The Xi Delta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is proud to present the Juneteenth at the Spellman Dream Builders Scholarship, open to all students in grades K-12 who reside in Kaufman County. This scholarship opportunity seeks to support and empower students by providing financial assistance for back-to-school expenses, including school supplies, books, and other educational materials.
Three scholarships are available, (1) award per grade category level:
K-4th Grade
5th-8th Grade
9th-12th Grade
Video Submission instructions
To apply for the Juneteenth at the Spellman Dream Builders Scholarship, please create a video essay addressing ONE of the following prompts:
What are your educational goals, and how do you plan to achieve them? Share your vision for your academic future. Highlight any specific interests or subjects you're passionate about and how they relate to your career aspirations.
Describe a community service project you have been involved in or would like to initiate. Explain why this project is important to you and how it impacts your community.
How do you celebrate and promote cultural awareness within your community? Share a story or experience that has deepened your understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity.
Imagine the world you want to help create in the future. What are the changes you would like to see, and how do you plan to contribute to making them happen? Discuss the role of education, community, and/or cultural awareness in shaping this vision.

Videos can be up to 5 minutes long.
Be creative! Use visuals, storytelling, and unique presentations to convey your message.
Ensure your video is clear, engaging, and effectively communicates your ideas.
Judging and Recognition:
Videos and applications will be accepted from March 3 - May 3, 2025.
Accepted file types: .mp4, .mpeg or mov.
All submissions must be received by, Saturday, May 3, 2025.
Video submissions will be evaluated based on creativity, content, and the student's alignment with their educational goals, community service involvement, or cultural awareness.
(1) winner from each grade category (K-4th, 5th-8th, and 9th-12th) will be awarded a $250.
Winners will be notified by email by May 30, 2025.
